Heading there, and back again

My good friend and fellow LOTR fan is going to Mordor and back and then to the Grey Havens. I’m going along with him (or probably trailing him since he’s a better walker than I am.) Look for a line with my current status on the journey to be added to my daily report.

Daily Goals

I saw this article today, and I realized I’m already pretty good at setting “Outcome” goals and “Process” goals. I have a great set of “Outcome” goals (remember this post).

I also carefully plan my meals every morning – with the aim of keeping my calories between 1200 and 1300 – 35% carbs, 45% fat, 20% protein – two fruits, five vegetables, etc. – stay away from canned and pre-processed foods (too much salt). Additionally, I have my FitBit set to 10,000  steps per day, and I do Tai Chi twice a week, and strength exercises three times a week (at least those are my “Process” goals and I’m pretty good at meeting them most weeks.)

Where I fall down is on the squishier “Daily” goals. So from now on, I’m going to be posting my Daily Goal (for attitude readjustment) at the beginning of my report. Prepared to be bored!

I’ve been fighting a scratchy throat and runny nose for several days, and I just didn’t feel like hitting the gym or doing any sustained walking. My stuffy head is better this morning, so I’ll do Tai Chi today. We’ll see how I feel about actually working out after that.
