  1. Basically, it’s what you see in the “Target” section above. 1300 calories per day. Keep the carbs under 100 grams. Keep the protein around 60 grams (because protein is hard on the kidneys, and with diabetes you need to be kind to your kidneys). That means you eat about 50% of your calories in fat. Drink 72 oz. of water everyday (in addition to juices, tea, or wine). Walk 10,000 steps a day. I’m obsessive about logging my food. I use MyFitnessPal. I also keep track of steps on a Fitbit.
